Photos app vs a file you attach
On recent iOS you can open a photo, open details, and set No Location. That edits the library copy. It does not help the JPEG you already exported last week, or the image sitting in Files. ScrubFiles rewrites the bytes you drop. Use Photos for the roll; use this page for the attachment.
Why HEIC has to become JPEG first
Apple’s default capture format is HEIC. This tool reads JPEG, PNG, and WEBP. Share Sheet → Save as JPEG, or Settings → Camera → Formats → Most Compatible for new shots. Then drop the JPEG. We do not convert HEIC on the server — there is no upload.
Turning Location Services off does not clean old photos
Settings → Privacy → Location Services → Camera → Never only stops new captures. Every photo already on the roll can still have GPS until you strip that file. That is the usual surprise after someone emails a “quick pic of the house.”
How to remove GPS from an iPhone photo

Get a JPEG
iPhone HEIC/HEIF is not accepted yet. In Photos, share or export the image as JPEG (or “Most Compatible”), then drop that file here.

Confirm the coordinates
If GPS is still in the JPEG, ScrubFiles lists the values. That is how you know the export did not already strip them.

Send the download
Use the rewritten file in Messages, Instagram uploads that keep originals, marketplaces, or email. The shot in Photos is unchanged.

Does Instagram already remove iPhone GPS?
Many social apps rewrite the file after upload. Email, Slack, job portals, and some marketplace listings keep the original JPEG. Strip GPS before you attach if you are not sure.
